Hi there, I’m Emanuela Campanella. I’m a multimedia journalist working and living in Toronto.
A little about me…
I work as an online video journalist with Global News focusing my reporting on current affairs. Whether it be behind or in front of the camera, I strive to make my storytelling engaging.
I write online stories but my real love lies in video. I pitch, write and produce feature and explainer videos for online and TV ahead of and off of the news cycle. Topics include climate change, technology, politics and health.
My work has garnered a Radio Television Digital News Association award and a Canadian Digital Publishing award.
Before journalism, I worked in communications at the United Nations in Geneva. I reported on youth unemployment and labour rights at the International Labour Organization.
Beyond the daily news grind, I love to experience new cultures and work in media development. I have volunteered in Tanzania and Ghana to train local journalists on the ground.
